"Tournament of Chompions: Minisode Winner v. Wendy’s" is Episode 45 of Doughboys, hosted by Mike Mitchell and Nick Wiger. "Tournament of Chompions: Minisode Winner v. Wendy’s" was released on March 24, 2016.
Synopsis[]
In the penultimate episode of #MunchMadness 2016, the hilarious Nicole Byer (Party Over Here, Girl Code) joins Spoonman and Wiger to judge the winner of the previous minisode against 2-seed Wendy’s. And, the first edition of a sweet new segment: Cereal.
Nick's intro[]
Burgers are perhaps the only food that New York City can't lay claim to; or at least, they couldn't until the year 2000, when restaurateur Danny Meyer, the man behind legendary Liberty City fine-dining establishments, Union Square Cafe and Gramercy Tavern, opened his high-end fast-casual burger joint in Madison Square Park.
It spread throughout the five boroughs and across the nation, and within this very month of March 2016, it opened its first outlet in the Los Angeles community of West Hollywood, throwing a Manhattan-sized monkey wrench into the Burger Brawl. The only chain in the competition yet to be reviewed, though it seems a shoo-in for the Golden Plate Club... or perhaps an even more precious metal?
This new-age New York institution goes against a beloved long-standing international sensation, the legacy of Dave Thomas, who so loved his daughter, he named his restaurant after her.
This match-up will determine the second and final entrant in the ultimate Chompionship.
This week on Doughboys, Munch Madness 2016: The Tournament of Chompions: Burger Brawl continues with Shake Shack vs. Wendy's.
Let's a-go!
Burger Brawl rules[]
The rules for the Munch Madness: Tournament of Chompions: Burger Brawl are as follows:
Restaurants must have previously appeared on Doughboys.- The three categories that each burger is ranked by are Presentation/Creativity, Condiments/Bun, and Burger/Taste/Juiciness.
- Categories are rated on a scale of 0-10 basketballs, which are arbitrary and meaningless, and they can be overruled by final decision, which is answered by "which burger would you send to coffee-drinking aliens from Men In Black?"
- Burgers only! Sides stay on the sidelines. Drinks stay in the Gatorade jug, which is also on the sidelines. Other mains stay in Maine.
