"Tomorrow… with Mookie Blaiklock, Zach Cherry, and Mike Hanford" - @doughboyspod

Synopsis[]

Mookie Blaiklock, Zach Cherry, and Mike Hanford join the 'boys LIVE to talk Boston memories, train snacks, and plant-based meats before a review of Tasty Burger.

Recorded live at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford, MA on June 10, 2023.

"Classic" Nick's intro[]

399 episodes.

Hundreds of restaurants reviewed, snacks snarfed, drinks drank, and toilets tortured.

Dozens of live shows recorded in cities across North America and no other continent.

Seven reviews of Taco Bell, with Taco Bell 7 releasing before Taco Bell 6, for some reason.

Strained themed October portmanteaus from Rockdoughberfest to Octdoughberblessed to Dogdoughbarkfest to Yarrrctdoughbarrrchest.

Mount Rushmores covering categories ranging from diet sodas to anthropomorphic bees.

Eight Munch Madness Tournaments plus something called the Evan Susser Ice Cream Invitational.

Through it all, we’ve gained memories… and weight. And now, after nearly eight years of continuous production, we reflect on the humble beginnings of this show — a pilot episode that began much like this one, with a lazily written stream of pseudo-profundity based largely on someone else’s research.

(Shout out Vinod, who maintains the unofficial Doughboys wiki.)

But will reliving our podcast pod-past make us want to forgo our future?

This week… on the 400th episode of Doughboys, we re-listen to the first episode of DoughboysChili’s.

And this week on Doughboys, live in Medford, Massachusetts... Tasty Burger!

[Classic intro is from the unreleased 400th episode. Support the WGA.]

John Quigley Adams[]

As he did in this classic episode, the former Head of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and now Mayor of Quincy, joins the show for an interview. He became Mayor due to the line of succession, after three Mayors died.

Adams is again concerned about the closure of Quincy restaurants because Mitch isn't there often enough.

These restaurants have closed because of Mitch: Mac and Cheese Jones, Tatum's Tots, Justin Turnovers, The Mighty Mighty Boss Scones, Taco Bell Biv DeVoe, Wade Boggs Alehouse, Not Friendly's, WAAFle House, Chris Evans Presents the Marvel Cinematic Chowderverse, Gone Gravy Gone, Gravy For Brady, Manchester by the Gravy, Kulhawik's, and Tyler Perry's Smokehouse (run by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry).

Also the tiny condom factory is closed, for the same reason.

Adams presents Mitch with a key to the city, which means he can use to visit any restaurant as often as he wants (and sleep with Adams' wife).

Quotes[]

If you have tummy troubles, you get an Uber Brown. The AC is on full blast and the driver is like 'you're gonna be ok.' They're playing soft music. There's plastic on the seats.

–Mike Mitchell

Wiges, I'm not surprised that you bisect your meat.

–Mike Mitchell

Mitch: You don't usually kids that are that purple.

Zach: Wiger, you might've seen a few.

–Mitch and Zach on how old Grimace is

Nick: A big part of me enjoying a shake is viscosity. And I think this vanilla shake was suitably viscous.

Mike: Milkshakes are one of the most fun things in the world. The way you just talked about them is like, I never wanna have a milkshake again.

–Nick and Hanford re: milkshakes
