Synopsis[]

Carl Tart and Ahsohn Williams (Carl Calls His Cousin) join the 'boys for a royal showdown to decide if Burger King or Dairy Queen will move on to the Munch Madness finale. Plus, another edition of Let's Be Frank.

Nick's intro[]

PREVIOUSLY ON DOUGHBOYS:

Nick: Which bite are we giving to the cenobites? Which is the best representation of dessert in this particular bracket, in this particular region? For me, I will say, this being a dessert tournament, my choice is pretty clear here, but I don't know which way this is gonna go.

Mitch: Wow. I don't either.
Nick: We'll count down from 3 to 1 and then we will say in unison what we think should advance, Burger King or Sprinkles.
Mitch and Nick: 3. 2. 1.
Nick: Sprinkles
Dani: Burger King
Mitch: ...
Mitch: I didn't say anything.
Nick: We're locked in with Sprinkles and Burger King. Mitch, you are the swing vote. Like, Kevin Costner in the film, which way do you go?
Mitch: I DON'T KNOW.

Milkymeme

an extension of the mommy milky meme

Queen: the Illinois-founded soft-serve pioneer whose frozen treats have, for decades, made Midwesterners to exclaim, to reference a different social-media catastrophe, "Mommy milky!"

Whoever wins this frozen face-off will move on to face a decidedly non-Royal opponent, Vermont ice-cream socialists, Ben & Jerry in this year's Chompionship.

Will the self-anointed King and Queen of fast food never be royals, as Lorde warned?

Or will one of them claim the throne as their prospective dessert menus pursue the most prestigious award in chain-restaurant podcasting, the Dave Thomas Cup!

This week on Doughboys, the second Semisweet Final match of Munch Madness 2021: The Tournament of Chompions: Pie Noon (sponsored by Manscaped): Burger King vs. Dairy Queen.

Let's a-go!

Pie Noon: Tournament of Chompions Rules 📜[]

The rules for Pie Noon:

  1. Just desserts! - meals may not appeal (if you're an entree or main, you cannot join the game)
  2. No sweet drinks; it has to be more like a shake to be included - If your drink is not slushy, Wiger will get fussy (the juice is not loose).
  3. Donuts 'do nut' count - no breakfast pastries or sweets!
  4. If it's in a mall, you can't play ball! - restaurants like Cinnabon or Auntie Ann's aren't seen as desserts, and they also do not want to go into a mall during the pandemic.
  5. If it's national, it's noshinal - only full national chains included this year.

A Statement from The Commissioner 📣[]

The Easy Bake Region winner was somewhat in dispute, so Commissioner Susser had to make a statement: because Mitch shirked his responsibility in not voting, he is to be penalized at a later time.

Also, The Commissioner canceled the upcoming Fat Chance Kitchen episode (a loser's bracket), and replaced it with a new bracket, The Shipping Chews! They will have to order a shipment of desserts from Sprinkles and Cinnabon, with the winner moving directly to the Finale!

Semisweet Final 2 🥤🥧[]

Nosferatu

Nosferatu

The Semisweet Final 2 of Munch Madness: Pie Noon is a match-up between the winners of the Shaken, Not Stirred Region (Dairy Queen/Orange Julius) and the Easy Bake Region (Burger King).

They rate their desserts on a scale of 0-10 Salmon-Colored Rope Ref Whistles.

They then announce which dessert goes to Nosferatu, the famous vampire, who is also a Cenobite apparently.

Let Me Be Frank 🌭📰[]

Frankdogs

In this cherished segment, The Doughboys search 'hot dog' on the internet and see what news is going on in the world of hot dogs.

  • The first news is a list of every state's top hot-dog joints.
  • Next up, they find an article about Conagra selling Hebrew National dogs.
  • Mitch also finds an article about a Las Vegas "sacred" hot-dog stand.
  • The last story is about a new Pink's hot dog named after "Mr. Los Angeles," Tom LaBonge.

I live about 20 minutes from the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont. I can attest to the absolute perfection of the Ben & Jerry's ice cream cake. Please order one for the Pie Noon Tournament of Chompions. I would argue it's the best food to come out of Vermont.

What do you consider the best food to come out of your state?
