"Hooters with Kulap Vilaysack" is Episode 80 of Doughboys, hosted by Mike Mitchell and Nick Wiger. "Hooters with Kulap Vilaysack" was released on December 8, 2016.
Synopsis[]
Host of Who Charted? and creator of Seeso's Bajillion Dollar Properties Kulap Vilaysack joins to review Hooters, the original "breastaurant" that prides itself on wings. Kulap discusses growing up in the restaurant industry and working at PF Chang's as an adult. Plus, a deeply unpleasant taste test awaits in a new iteration of The Leftovers.
Nick's intro[]
The assembly line: an innovation that transformed commerce, generally credited to Henry Ford, who indeed created the moving version to manufacture his company's Model T. But its precursor, the static assembly line, was the invention of Ransom Eli Olds, the founder of Oldsmobile.
In 1926, Olds, flush with cash from his pioneering automotive brand, began operating the new Fort Harrison Hotel in Clearwater, Florida. Thriving in its time, the hotel was decrepit by the '70s, and in 1975 was acquired by the innocuous-sounding Southern Land Development and Leasing Corp. This company turned out to be a front for L. Ron Hubbard's Church of Scientology, and so Olds' hotel became Flag Land Base, the spiritual headquarters of the most controversial modern religious movement.
But it's not the only controversial organization headquartered in Clearwater, Florida.
In 1983, a half-dozen businessmen and restaurant-industry neophytes opened an eatery centered on a concept mostly foreign to food service: sex appeal. The restaurant slung its signature wings, but its real attraction was breasts - and not the chicken variety, but the buxom young waitresses in tight tops and short shorts who transparently flirted with male customers. The calendar-model staff attracted throngs of horngry men, as well as accusations of sexism - including the legal variety when aspiring male employees later sued for hiring discrimination.
Today, the original "breastaurant" boasts over 400 worldwide locations, as well as its own hotel in Las Vegas.

The Leftovers[]
In this segment, The Doughboys eat something that has been left in the fridge overnight.
For this episode, they have slices of 7-Eleven Fresh To Go Pizza, which had spent a night in the fridge and then the morning in a cooler.
They rate the slice on a scale of "leave the food behind" (bad) or "ascend to heaven" (good), certain that's what happens on the show.
Everyone was thoroughly disgusted by the pizza.

The Feedbag[]
“ | I'm wondering where the Doughboys stand on guacamole in a burrito.
I contend that it's much better served as a side and severely throws off the texture of a burrito when included in the wrap. I know this is a controversial opinion in our avocado-crazed climate, but I've been finding recently that some people side with me. Love always, |
