Nick's intro[]

The Arlington National Cemetery stands solemnly in an unincorporated city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, where, since the Civil War, it's been hallowed ground for America's war dead.

Arlnatcem

Arlington National Cemetery

But a newer, more festive American institution has since established itself in this DC suburb, where in 1986, Janie and Jerry Murrell founded a burger joint with their four sons; the quintet of male family members lending the restaurant its unique name. The eatery became the talk of the nation's capitol with its flavorful and customizable hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries cooked in peanut oil to match the complementary peanuts offered in store.

In 2003, the family decided to franchise its operations, and now with over 1000 locations in the US, it's proven to be a worthy competitor to upscale takeout burger titans In-N-Out, Shake Shack, and Fatburger.

In fact, President Obama himself is a devoted fan of Murrell's, and sons', fast-casual chain.

Last Meal[]

MegaManTitleCard

Mega Man

In Last Meal, Mitch comes up with a scenario in which the guest is to be executed, who in turn gets to describe his choices for his last meal.

In a dystopian future where the game Mega Man has become reality, Jefferson Dutton attempts to aid Mega Man in defeating the current democratically-elected president Dr. Wily, but is captured and sentenced to death. Forced to fight Leaf Man unarmed, Dutton must choose his last meal.

Dutton's choices:

  • buffalo chicken pizza (akin to the Syracuse-Style Hot Wing pizza at Tomato Pie)
  • side of lobster
  • Cream Soda
  • the most expensive liquor
  • Poquito Más burrito (for dessert)

Fortunately at the last second, Mega Man's dog Rush rescues Dutton from Leaf Man, freeing him to continue the fight.

Dinner is the Movie 🍽️ 📽️[]

Forceawakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Not officially a Dinner is the Movie segment (not invented yet), but since this was the first recorded episode after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Doughboys have a fairly deep discussion about their reaction to the film. They don't rate it or anything, though.

guest / host thoughts
Nick Wiger didn't like it at first, but saw it a second time and started to like it
Mike Mitchell doesn't like it at all and thinks it is artless, but he did see it four times
Jefferson Dutton knows it isn't a great movie, but was satisfied by it

Shake Stack 🥤[]

After not coming to a consensus about what a 'shake' is just three episodes earlier, Mitch again brings it up and asks for their three favorite shakes. (He calls it a 'Shake Stack'.) They then can't decide what type of restaurants should be allowed in or not.

Dutton doesn't care about shakes so begs out (but does like In-N-Out Chocolate Shakes).

Nick Wiger In-N-Out Steak 'N Shake (can't decide on a third)
