Synopsis[]
Michael Jonathan Smith (@iammichaeljonathan, Twisted Metal) joins the 'boys to talk Twisted Metal and New Orleans eats before tackling the second semi-soft final matchup of For Whom the Bell Doughs: Munch Madness 2024: The Tournament of Chompions IX: Dough Quiero Talk-O'-Bell, Chomp-Out Round Part 2.
Nick's intro[]
1930 marked the first ever World Cup, a global football competition - or for fellow Yanks, soccer competition - that eclipses even the Olympics in stirring jingoistic passions. Unfortunately, for decades, what should be a worldwide celebration of sport has been disgracefully mismanaged by corrupt Eurotrash cabal FIFA, staining the Cup with controversy. With our similarly prestigious Dave Thomas Cup nearly derailed by its own administrative issues, we soldier on, in our quest to determine the ultimate Taco Bell menu item.
Today, a sextet of TB offerings brawl in a beefy, beany bracket to be crowned big cheese of nacho cheese.
Will it be a taco, burrito, quesadilla, beverage, or one of those weird but delicious things Taco Bell made up?
Either way, this rumble’s giving us the rumblies!
This week on Doughboys… the final six goop stage winners battle in the second Semi-Soft Final Matchup of For Whom The Bell Doughs: Munch Madness 2024: The Tournament of Chompions IX: Dough Quiero Talk-o'-Bell: Chomp-Out Round, Part 2!
Ring the bell!

Dough Quiero Talk-O'-Bell: Tacogate 🚨🚨🚨[]
Tacogate was first discussed in this episode, which led to Independent Counsel Matt Kowalick investigating. Basically, some items on the Taco menu at Taco Bell were not included in the taco round.
Kowalick reveals the results of his investigation and extensive research: Tacogate is entirely Commissioner Evan Susser's fault.
This egregious dereliction of duty must never happen again, so going forward Evan Susser may no longer be the Commissioner of any Tournament of Chompions.
Susser somehow calls in at the same moment he's being cancelled to present his idea for the upcoming Yum! Brand All-Star Game.
Kowalick also declares himself the new Commissioner! What a huge asset for the podcast.
Dough Quiero Talk-O'-Bell Rules 🔔📜[]
The rules of this year's Tournament, as decreed by (ex-)Commissioner Susser:
- Everyone is here: this is a comprehensive tournament. Drinks are out of the stink, sides are off the sidelines.
- Spice up the night, not the morning: no breakfast items in this year's tournament.
- Is a Pepsi ok?: only drinks exclusive to Taco Bell will be considered, but Pepsi will be considered.
- Yum yum yum: there will be a Yum! Brands All-Star Category in the Tournament, including Pizza Hut, KFC, and The Habit.
- Don't veg out, veg in! (by any beans necessary): any meat or veggie protein is valid on any item.
- If it's seasonable, it's unreasonable: only using the February 2024 menu.
- The spice is not right: the Evan Saucer's Sauce Boss competition was unsanctioned and The Doughboys can use any sauce. However, listeners may only use the Sauce Queen, Hot Sauce Packet, on their own trips to Taco Bell.
- I have a cream: for each group stage, The Doughboys may, but don't have to, pick Jen D'Angelo's Sour Cream of the Crop Award for funniest plausible winner of a round.
- For the end of the list, a twist:
Evan SusserMatt Kowalick can use three Commissioner Cinnamon Twists to increase excitement whenever he sees fit.
