Jennie Pierson joins the 'boys to take on the Nonstandard Region of Munch Madness 2022: The Tournament of Chompions: Hero's Journey: Sub-Optimal.
Hero's Journey: Sub-Optimal rules[]
Here are the rules for this year's Tournament of Chompions:
- Sandwiches only! Sides stay on the sidelines, drinks are in the stink, chips get the slip, cookies are ookie, and soup's OFF.
- We are in a pickle: Pickles are eligible!
- If it's national, it's rational: Chains have to have locations across the US. This also excludes local LA chains.
- I like Ike: due to personal conflicts, Ike's has been removed from the tournament. (The Doughboys are friendly with Ike.)
- Some heroes are self-made: Customization is encouraged.
- We run hot and cold: one hot sandwich and one cold sandwich from each eatery.
- You can request extra napkins.
- Guests don't have to follow the rules.
- Mrs. Mitchell can ground Wiger if necessary.
- Nick and Mitch each get one permaban per tournament.
- Susser can substitute one chain for another if he wants.
Nonstandard Region[]
The Doughboys have reviewed Arby's three times previously. The first was in episode 30, when Nick gave it 4 forks and Mitch gave it 3.5 forks. Then in 2017 they returned and both Nick and Mitch rated it 3 forks. In 2021, they reviewed it a third time, and they each gave it 4 forks. (They also did a Double where they tried the Gyros.)
The Doughboys have made two visits to Panera Bread. Back in 2018, Nick gave it 2.5 forks and Mitch 3.25 forks. Then in the beginning of 2021, Nick gave it 4 forks and Mitch 3.9 forks.

Nick's Eat of the Week went to Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich; though he also says the best thing he's eaten all Tournament is the King's Hawaiian Fish Deluxe.
