Synopsis[]

Nick's intro[]
The 1984 NBA Draft was led by four certified Hall of Famers: Houston Rockets' legend, Akeem "The Dream" Olajuwon; The Round Mound of Rebound, Charles Barkley; all-time assists and steals leader, John Stockton; and, of course, the consensus G.O.A.T., Michael Jordan (famously passed over by the Portland Trailblazers in favor of Sam Bowie - his career was not as successful).
But the 2003 NBA Draft was arguably just as top-heavy, led by its own quartet of superstars: the next-gen G.O.A.T., LeBron James; one-man offense, Carmelo Anthony; five-time NBA All-Star, Chris Bosh; and a Chicago native drafted by the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade.
An other-worldly scorer who also played ferocious defense, D.Wade would win the NBA title and Finals MVP in just his third season, alongside an aging, but still dominant, Shaquille O'Neal. Wade would go on to be a pivotal figure in NBA history by recruiting his draft-classmates, LeBron and Bosh, to join him as free agents on the Heat in 2011, forming a heel stable known as The Heatles, who'd go to four straight finals, winning two championships.
And Wade used his recruiting skills off the court, as well; in 2017, enlisting long-time Heat teammate, Udonis Haslem, to open franchises of a burgeoning woodfire-pizza chain whose name evokes a different kind of heat. Launched in 2012 by fine-dining chef Anthony Carron with a location just south of UCLA campus, it's one of several new-fangled made-to-order personal-pizza concepts aspiring to be the Chipotle of 'za. (Coincidentally, one of those, Blaze Pizza, is partially owned by LeBron James himself.) Considering Papa Shaq's investment in Papa John's, pizza may just be in the Miami Heat's DNA.
Wade and Haslem's joint venture boosted the pie shop's profile and footprint and put a personal spin on the menu by adding a D.Wade Burger and UD's Chicken Wings; though one of their franchises did shutter in 2020 due to non-payment of rent. Today, this personal pizzeria has locations dotting the US like dollops of marinara, as well as Asia and the Middle East.
While LeBron James may have had a higher peak as a member of the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade's commitment to the city means he'll always be the fan favorite. And while LeBron's Blaze may be the larger, faster-growing pizza chain, D.Wade's chain's commitment to chef-driven quality is evident in the output of its kitchen.

Jingle All The Whey 🎶[]
In this segment, Nick plays a fast-food jingle; Mitch and the guest try to guess which year it came out.
The closest guess, without going over, wins a point. If you guess it exactly, you get two points (aka. the Arden Myrin rule).
The theme for this episode was Pepsi jingles.
